To keep children in school to ensure a brighter long-term future for themselves and their families.
Four strategies we see as consistent, sustainable, and which will offer accountability and risk management are:
- Send medical teams at each volunteer’s own expense, to work with doctors and nurses in Vietnam to improve health for children to be able to attend school, and for adults to be able to work to support their families.
- Send dental teams at each volunteer’s own expense, to work with dentists and hygienists in Vietnam to improve dental health for children to be able to attend school and for adults to be able to work to support their families.
- Help poor families cover the costs of sending their children to school K-Grade 12. A newly created annual application form will be employed to assist the Director and Board to determine which current or new families will be registered in this new program. CHKV will work closely with the Educational Encouragement Society representatives in each participating province in Vietnam.
- Fundraise in Canada for Board-selected projects in Vietnam (eg. school construction, school supplies, bicycles, natural disaster relief, medical and dental equipment). Possible fundraisers: Annual Dinner, School Dinners, Readathons, Socials, Individual and Corporate Donations, annual bike campaigns, and more.
