“Biking on a Child’s Future” is a special project adopted by CHKV to find donors willing to buy a bicycle for an underprivileged child in Vietnam. For $50, “Biking on a Child’s Future” can change a child’s life immensely.
CHKV, a nationally registered charity in Canada since 1995, is working to enhance the future for children in Vietnam. To date, we have built nine schools in the country, the most recent in a remote village in northern Vietnam, and presented 200 bicycles to enable children to travel the often long distances to and from school. We have also matched, over the years, over 300 Canadian families as monthly sponsors of some of the poorest families in Vietnam, and have conducted four medical and dental missions since 2009.
During our missions, we present 50-100 bicycles to children identified by school officials as good students from families without the means to provide a bicycle for their child. In the rural areas where CHKV is working, a father or mother often make about $30 US a month and so it is impossible to purchase a new bicycle for one or more of their children.
With your help, we are sure we will achieve our goal. Please consider a donation to our “Biking on a Child’s Future” campaign. All proceeds will be used to purchase the bicycles from a small company in Vietnam who in turn will deliver the bicycles to the presentation ceremony.
